Welcome to part 2 of our blog!
It seems like a lot has happened since the last one! Both of our remaining foals have been born, 2 healthy colts born within a few days of each other. Ellenbrook Ladies Day (by Blaircourt Franko) had a beautiful bay colt with no white, a really chunky type that we expect to make a 14hh SHP. Linsop The Chaperone (Lenny) is by our own Royalview Splendour (Tynddolisa Prince Ibrihim X Whalton Chanel).
Brookhall Miss Milly (by Eeabrook Democrat) had a chestnut colt with 2 white socks that should make a 13hh SHP. Linsop Playing With Fire (Marvin) is by the Cochran family’s Jackets Shades of Blue, we were very grateful for the opportunity to use this exceptional stallion. Marvin is eligible PBW, and as our foundation mare Milly has brought some lovely old fashioned Section B bloodlines to our little stud. We were absolutely desperate for a filly out of Milly to run on, but it wasn’t meant to be. However he is healthy and beautiful and already reserved to a wonderful family showing home, so can’t ask for more than that! We have made the decision to retire Milly from breeding now, this is her last foal at the age of 22 and she more than deserves to enjoy her retirement nannying the foals in the big field.
Showing has started up again which is fantastic, we have managed to get our yearling colt Linsop Count On Me out a couple of times where he went Youngstock Champion and also a Reserve Champion NPS Silver Medal, qualifying for the Summer Champs, which will be his next outing after the Royal Lancs.
We are right in the middle of scanning mares for 2022 foals at the moment, and being still fairly new breeders we still find this quite nerve-wracking!
We have Rhos Extravagance (Derwent Rainbow Bandit X Rhos Eloquence, full sister to Exception) scanned in foal with a heartbeat to Jackets Shades of Blue, very excited for this combination. We also have Laybalands Birthday Girl (Chiddock Time Limit X Westhill Frivolity) scanned in foal with a heartbeat to our boy Royalview Splendour. This will be a full sibling to our 2020 filly Linsop My Fair Lady who we were devastated to lose in a tragic field accident when she was 6 months old. It took some time for us to make this decision as it felt like replacing Audrey, but believe this foal will be another superstar in his/her own right.
Thank you again for reading and good luck to everyone showing over the next month!
